1^st Annual Kevin Lukes Memorial Golf Tournament

Although the day started out with an unusual mid-summer storm usually seen in the Midwest, the First Annual Kevin Lukes Memorial Tournament drew 71 golfers out to Los Robles Greens Golf Course in Thousand Oaks on Friday, July 16. SCMAF – Channel Cities hosted the event, led by Dana Miller from Conejo Recreation & Park District. Kevin, who passed away unexpectedly in July 2009, had a passion for golf so the Association felt it was fitting to hold an event that shared Kevin’s passion and would help to benefit his children.

Golfers had an opportunity to participate in a putting contest prior to the start of the 4-person scramble tournament. Throughout the course, participants had chances for closest to the pin, a hole-in-one shot for a car, and longest drive. A banquet for golfers and guests, including a raffle and silent auction, wrapped up the day. A memento commemorating the day was given to Kevin’s wife, Lauren and their daughter Kylie.

The net profits from the benefit tournament, silent auction, raffle and mulligan sales will assist Kevin’s two children, Kylie and Ryan, with their educational expenses.
