Officials Training

The importance of using trained and certified officials cannot be overemphasized. The enjoyment and safety of the participants in your programs is directly related to the on-field actions of your officials. To assist you in developing a pool of certified officials, SCMAF provides Officials Training and Officials Certification programs.

Officials Training Program - These workshops will expose attendees to key issues illustrating the importance of being a proactive official; including how to improve communication and decision-making skills, how to use preventive officiating to manage conflict, and the rules and mechanics specific to each sport.

Officials Certification Program - This program provides extensive instruction and testing in rules, mechanics, appearance, conduct, liability and more to ensure a thorough understanding. At the completion of the course, you will receive your SCMAF Officials Certification for 2009.

Please take advantage of these opportunities by referring your new and returning officials for education and certification. We encourage you to require these qualifications of your officials associations you contract with as well as individual officials, using only trained and certified officials for your leagues.
