Sports Officials Insurance Program

SCMAF Sports Officials Insurance Program was established to provide excess medical and liability insurance benefits and coverage to all SCMAF Certified Officials/Coaches participating in an organized activity of recreational sports under supervision of SCMAF Member Agencies.

ELIGIBILITY FOR OFFICIALS

Officials registered in the program, who have completed a SCMAF Sanctioned Officials Training Program that is promoted, organized, conducted, and supervised by SCMAF Member Agencies are eligible.
 
PERIOD OF ELIGIBILITY:
 
Eligibility will commence on the date the SCMAF Sports Officials Insurance Program registration application is approved by the insurance underwriter. This is generally within five (5) working days that the application being received by the SCMAF Office. All officials who are registered with SCMAF in the insurance program are covered only during SCMAF Agency league and SCMAF-Sanctioned tournament games from the date of registration with SCMAF through December 31. The insurance will expire at the end of each calendar year.
  
ELIGIBLE YOUTH AND ADULT SPORTS OFFICIALS:
The sports include but are not limited to:

  • Adult Sports: Basketball, Baseball, Flag Football, Roller Hockey, Soccer, Softball, and Volleyball
  • Youth Sports: Basketball, Baseball, Flag Football, Roller Hockey, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Volleyball, Track & Field

2024 FEES: 
$40 per official calendar year. 

COVERAGE: 

  • $15,000 Supplemental Excess Medical Insurance for the official with a $500 deductible per claim.
  • $1 million general liability insurance Each Occurrence with a $5 million General Aggregate limit for the official and agency.

INFORMATION REQUIRED

All Officials enrolling in the SCMAF Officials Insurance Program must:

  • Provide a completed application (See link below).
  • Complete a SCMAF sanctioned officials training course.
  • A copy of contractual agreement between official and SCMAF Member Agency.

PAYMENT:
Payment may be included with the registration forms or an agency may request an invoice from SCMAF. All invoices will be due in thirty (30) days prior from officials needs to be meet before receiving certificate of insurance. 

UNDERWRITERS: 
The SCMAF Sports Officials Insurance Program is offered only through SCMAF by Bene-Marc Inc; and underwritten by AXIS Global Accident & Health and Atlantic Specialty Insurance Company (see policy details link below 'General Liability Coverage' & 'Excess Medical Coverage').

  2. Sample of Insurance from City (if needed)
  3. Complete application
