SPRING INTO PARKS WITH FREE & FUN OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING

This spring, visit LA County Parks locations for recreation and adventure! We are offering a variety of new FREE programs for youth and families, including checking out sports equipment during afterschool hours, sports clinics for ages 6-12, and exploration programs to discover the wonder of nature and wildlife. Make LA County Parks your destination for spring fun!

SPORTS FOR ALL 
Saturdays beginning on April 10 and ending on May 29  
All youth deserve the chance to play sports! LA County Parks is proud to offer FREE sports clinics offered at 25 parks for youth ages 6-12. Have fun, exercise and develop a love for being active all through the sport they choose. Free sports clinics are offered in core sports of basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, cheer and volleyball. Registration is free but required. SIGN UP HERE
 

EVERY BODY PLAYS 
Tuesday-Saturday 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. starting April 1
Let’s get kids playing at parks again! Every Body Plays supports youth and families by providing free drop-in after-school recreation programming to ensure that youth have a safe place to go to after school. Youth can check out sports equipment for FREE when playing at 55 parks and within 20 cities across LA County. Youth also connect with LA County Parks staff from the Youth @ Work program who will be onsite at each location to encourage youth to get active and stay healthy in a safe place. Find a participating park near you HERE

EVERY BODY EXPLORES
Wednesday-Friday 2:30p.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. 
Every Body Explores provides an opportunity like no other to learn about the vast nature and wilderness of LA County. Go on an adventure at our amazing 7 Nature Centers! Explore ecosystems, identify plants and wildlife, make art from nature and maybe even meet special animal guests. The program features Community Science scavenger hunts and creative nature projects, such as building a birdhouse or designing an insect hotel. Find a participating park near you HERE.   

FREE SNACK PROGRAM 
LA County Parks and select city parks will provide nutritional snacks at to ensure that children are not hungry in the afternoon. Youth ages 18 and under receive a free nutritious lunch and snack that include fruit, vegetables, dairy products, juice and water at qualifying parks. Created to help reduce the growing percentage of young people in the United States challenged by obesity or lack of consistent access to wholesome meals, the program aims to provide a healthy alternative for students after-school.

COLORING CONTEST  
Deadline to submit: April 11  
Participate in our spring art contest! You can download the coloring page HERE and submit your entry to ArtContest@parks.lacounty.gov. A winner from each age group (ages 6 and under, ages 7-12, ages 13-18) will win a bicycle and helmet. Entries will be judged by age group on creativity and coloring skills. Winners will be announced on April 19 on LA County Parks social media platforms (@LACountyParks).
