As the Summer Olympics took place in Paris, the SCMAF Swimming Championships were hosting future Olympians at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center. Over 300 SCMAF swimmers were ready to take the plunge to compete against the best recreational youth swimmers in southern California. Hundreds of family and friends cheered from the stands as the swimmers between the ages of 5-18 competed in ten different swimming events.
The SCMAF Swimming Championships were conducted on Saturday, August 10, with swimmers representing 10 teams. The 2024 Championships were exciting for athletes, coaches, family members and spectators alike. All the swim teams that competed were able to win some medals or ribbons, but regardless of whether the young athletes achieved a personal best or won a medal, they experienced a first class event and a lifetime of memories.
A special thanks goes to the city of Santa Clarita staff. Their support at the event was exceptional as they clearly were able to handle all he logistics at their venue. The SCMAF Swimming committee and staff would like to thank all the Association representatives for their help and effort. This event would also not be possible without the knowledge and skills of our aquatics' staff, coaches and volunteers who work tirelessly with our competitors throughout the year to give them the best opportunity to succeed at the meet. SCMAF certainly hopes that everyone had an enjoyable time.
