On Sunday June 7, SCMAF held their annual Track and Field Championships at Warren High School in Downey. On a bright, sunny and hot day, over 800 boys and girls participated in ten different running and field events.

The morning started as the participants from 4 Associations paraded around the track for the opening ceremonies. SCMAF Vice President, David Coleman (City of Victorville), opened the meet with a few words of inspiration and encouragement to the thousands of people in attendance.

The meet began at 9:30 as the first race of the day was the 1600 Meter Run while others began to compete in the long jump. Throughout the course of the Track Meet, three SCMAF records were broken. They include:

Boys:
Division 01/00
Softball Throw 272-03.00 Isiah Saucedo, Orange County Association

Division 02
Shot Put 39-09.00 Michael Stine, Inland Empire Association

Girls:
Division 01/00
1600 Meter Run 5:06.43 Mazzy Genovese, BASE Association
