December 3, 1921 - May 14, 2016 Born in Oakland, Ca.; naval veteran of WWII. Met wife of 71+ years, Dolores in San Francisco. Superintendent of Recreation for City of Santa Ana for 35 years. Survived by "Big D," daughter, Terry, son-in-law, Jon; nieces and nephews, Jan, Jim, Jill, Don, Brian and Jana. Daughter, Lynne predeceased him. The last week of his life he had lunch at his favorite fish restaurant, had a Costco hot dog, and ate banana cream pie for dinner for 3 nights in a row. We called him "the manager," and he managed so well, even up to the last moment of his life. No services requested by "the manager." He looked forward to the 4th season of the "House of Cards" and the first woman president. Goodbye, Ace!
